As one of the world’s fastest-growing hospitalities companies, Hilton decided to increase its portfolio with another addition of a Hilton flagship brand hotels in Malaysia. Famed for its tourism and natural beauty, Hilton is building a new resort in Burau Bay, along Langkawi’s western coastline.
Although the project did not specify BIM as a requirement, Hyperion Projects is tasked to perform 3D modelling of construction drawings along with its revisions on all disciplines. Upon completion of construction of certain parts of the building, our task will proceed into 3D modelling to capture the as-builts on site in modelling form.
This hybrid way of working helps the consultants to visualise their design in a virtual manner, which subconsciously also allows the consultants to optimise their design prior to construction on site. In other words, it helps the client and the consultants and also the contract to review the design through this visualisation.
As for the LOD 500, we are updating the model based on site condition or any elements that has been adjusted based on site instruction. This updating of as-builts does improves accuracy of the building documentation for the client’s future managements representation to make any maintenance.
